Nigh Technologies, Inc is getting ready to launch next generation technology that is going to transform local commerce and change how local businesses connect with customers nearby. We are planning to launch a pilot of our NearNow app in Boulder this summer.

We are looking for a senior software engineer with at least five years of strong development experience to join our team. We need an experienced engineering team member that is versatile, collaborative, and motivated to solve challenging technical problems in a fast pace startup environment. As part of a small disruptive team, you will be very hands-on in every aspect of engineering including but not limited to engineering and product direction, full stack mobile and web development, large-scale architectural design, complex algorithm design and development, artificial intelligence/machine learning, and advanced analytics.

Minimum qualification:

  • At least 5 years of proficient/advanced demonstrable software development experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Math, or other advanced technical field
  • Proficient in one or more of these programming languages: Java, Kotlin, C++, Python, Node.js, or Go
  • Experience with non-relational NoSQL databases (Firebase/Firestore, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra)
  • Experience working on web and mobile applications (Android/ iOS) and IDEs
  • Experience architecting, designing, and developing large scalable distributed systems
  • Experience with complex algorithms, advanced analytics, and/or game simulation methods
  • Experience with Unix/Linux, cloud services, microservices, and scalable APIs (REST, RPC)
  • Experience working on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Nice to have:

  • Experience working with mobile payments, online marketplaces, social, map or local applications
  • Experience in technical leadership, leading engineering teams and setting technical direction
  • Experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, security and privacy, cryptography
  • Experience in API design, performance optimization, and large-scale architectures

This role is in Boulder Colorado (no remote)
